VIKRAM AGGARWAL, J. (ORAL) Pursuant to order dated 15.06.2026, the petitioners are present. The parents of petitioner No.1 were also present but it has been informed that the father of petitioner No.1 got emotional and has, therefore, been taken to the dispensary since he was feeling unwell. 2.

On 15.06.2026, a co-ordinate Bench passed the following order:- "1.

The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking protection

CRWP No.7105 of 2026 -2of their lives and liberty as guaranteed by Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

Mr. Chahat Goyal, Advocate has appeared and filed Power of Attorney on behalf of respondent No.4. The same is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at an appropriate place.

As per petition and documents enclosed therewith i.e. Aadhaar Card, petitioner No.1-Harmeet Kaur is more than 19 years old and petitioner No.2-Gurnoor Singh is 22 years old. The petitioners are major and they have got married on 12.06.2026. In support of their contention, the petitioners have enclosed marriage certificate dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) issued by Gurudwara Guru Nanak Niwas Sahib, Village Karor Kalan, Tehsil Kharar, Distt. Mohali. 4.

The petitioners have made a representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-5) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, Punjab, seeking protection of life and liberty. The petitioners have no apprehension of causing any injury on the part of the police or other Government authorities whereas the petitioners are claiming that there is apprehension that relatives of the petitioners may cause injury and put their lives to endanger.

Learned counsel for private respondent submits that parents of the girl want to see her. They are not opposing marriage, however, want to make sure that she is alive and physically fit.

Keeping in view the contents of paragraph No.3 of the said order and without commenting upon the validity of the marriage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-5) and take

CRWP No.7105 of 2026 -3requisite action, if so warranted, as per the facts and circumstances of the matter, in accordance with law.
