**** JAISHREE THAKUR, J. (ORAL) It is contended that the petitioner was to superannuate on 31.01.2017. Before the date of superannuation, the petitioner applied and exercised his option for extension in service for a period of one year w.e.f. 01.02.2017 till 31.01.2018. The petitioner was served with a chargesheet dated 25.01.2017 after extension had been granted to him. Notice of motion was issued in this matter as well as notice regarding stay.
The limited prayer that had been made at the time when the matter was taken up for hearing was that the proceedings under the chargesheet to be concluded as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of two months so that the petitioner would be able to discharge his duties over the extension that had been granted. A reply has been filed in Court today and learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents-State very fairly submits that even though the petitioner has been given personal hearing by the Managing Satyawan 2017.03.22 13:20 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
