1. The petitioners, who are serving as PHC/Head Constables in Punjab Police, have approached this Court seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus so as to direct the official respondents to step-up their pay to bring the same at par with the pay of respondents No.5 to 13, who are stated to be juniors to the petitioners.

2. Notice of motion.

3. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 4 and has submitted that the claim of the petitioners shall be considered in accordance with rules and legal precedents.

4. Without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the MOHAN SINGH 2023.08.11 17:17 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Since the petitioners have already served a legal notice dated 18.05.2023 (Annexure P-9), the authorities concerned are directed to consider and decide the same in accordance with law keeping in view the earlier pronouncements of this Court expeditiously preferably within a period of 4 months from today.
