The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking extension of parole for a period of 03 weeks in FIR No. 80 dated 16.04.2007 under Sections 148, 149, 307 & 302 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Sections 191(3), 190, 103, 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023) and Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, registered at Police Station Murthal, District Sonipat, Haryana. 2.
As per pleadings, the petitioner was convicted by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Sonipat vide judgment of conviction dated 31.03.2011 and order of sentence dated 07.04.2011. The petitioner was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life along with fine of ₹25,000/- under Section 302 read with Section 149 IPC; rigorous imprisonment for ten years with fine of ₹10,000/- under Section 307 read with Section 149 IPC; rigorous imprisonment for five years with fine of ₹5,000/- under Section 148 IPC and rigorous imprisonment for one year
-2with a fine of Rs. 2,000/- under Section 25 of the Arms Act. Appeal of the petitioner has been finally adjudicated up to the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and he is currently undergoing his sentence in District Jail, Karnal.

The petitioner was granted concession of regular parole for a period of 10 weeks (70 days) by the competent authority. Pursuant to the same, he was released from judicial custody on 12.03.2026 and as per the release order, he has to surrender before the jail authorities on 15.06.2026.

The primary ground for seeking the extension of parole is the medical condition of the petitioner's father who has been diagnosed with Glaucoma, severely affecting his vision. The treating doctors at Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat, Haryana, have advised surgery due to his severe condition. While the treating doctor initially scheduled the surgery for 25.05.2026 (Annexure P-1), the surgery is now scheduled for 17.06.2026. Presence of the petitioner is necessary to attend his father's medical needs, facilitate the eye surgery and provide proper post-operative care. 5.
Learned counsel for petitioner submits that the petitioner may be granted 10 days parole so that he may help his father who is undergoing eye surgery on 17.06.2026. The petitioner is in custody for almost 14 years.

Learned State Counsel submits that parole may not be granted for more than ten days.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the period of petitioner's parole is extended for 10 days from today. The petitioner shall surrender before Jail Superintendent, Karnal on 26.06.2026. 9.
