RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for issuance of direction to respondent No.3 to act upon the representation, dated 28.07.2024, Annexure P-5, vide which the petitioners have requested to respondent No.2, i.e. the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mansa to provide adequate security in the premises of Shiv Shakti Medical Society, Bhikhi, so as to save their lives from the hands of private respondents no.4 to 6. It is further prayed to direct respondents No.2 and 3 to assess threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners and their families inside and outside the institute, i.e. Shiv Shakti Medical Society, Bhikhi, and provide adequate protection so as to avoid any mis-happening in the hands of respondents No.4 to 6 and their associates. It is fairly submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that though FIR has already been registered, however, on account of registration MEENU 2024.08.09 17:02 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-38698-2024 -2of FIR, private respondents are threatening them and for that purpose, the petitioners have filed representation, Annexure P-5, but no action has been taken on the same till date. He specifically submitted that in the representation, Annexure P-5, though prayer has been made for registration of the FIR, however, the same has become infructuous as FIR has already been registered and the representation survives only qua protection to the petitioners and the same has not been decided till date. Notice of motion to official respondents only at this stage. On asking of the Court, Mr.J.S.Arora, DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State. Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent no.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Mansa, to decide the representation, only qua the prayer to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners, expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within one month from today.
