The present petition has been filed seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6 and their other relatives.

Petitioner No.1 (girl) is of the age of 37 years, whereas petitioner No.2 (boy) is aged 36 years. The marriage of petitioner No.1 was solemnized with respondent No.4 and out of the said wedlock, two male children were born, who are presently residing with respondent No.4 (father). Petitioner No.1 and respondent No.4 are not having cordial relations with each other and are living separately from the last two years. Whereas, petitioner No.2 is unmarried and used to help petitioner No.1. Both the petitioners are residing in live-inrelationship. It is averred that family of petitioner No.1 is opposing to the said relationship and therefore, the petitioners are apprehending threat to their lives and liberty at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that scope of the present petition pertains only to the protection of lives of the petitioners. He has submitted that the petitioners have submitted a representation dated 11.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) to the Superintendent of Police, Ambala but no action has been taken on the same.

Ms. Puneeta Sethi, Addl. A.G, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the aforesaid respondents. Copy stands supplied. 7.

This Court does not wish to make any observations with regard to the validity of inter se relationship between the petitioners. However, since both the petitioners are stated to be residing in live-in relationship, the scope of present petition pertains only to protection of their lives. 8.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Ambala that representation dated 11.06.2026 (Annexure P-3) filed seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioners, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for ensuring the protection of life of the petitioners.
