(ORAL) In the present case, the petitioner has made a prayer for quashing of show-cause notice dated 22.01.2018 (Annexure P-6) as well as subsequent charge-sheet dated 06.02.2018 (Annexure P-7). It has been alleged that the show-cause notice as well as the charge-sheet have only been issued to delay the release of the pensionary benefits to the petitioner.
During the course of the arguments, counsel for the petitioner states that in the present writ petition, the petitioner restricts his claim only for the time bound finalization of the inquiry proceedings. Counsel for the petitioner further states that the petitioner will cooperate with the respondents and will not create any hindrance in finalization of the inquiry proceedings at the earliest. CWP-29722-2018 -2Without going into the merits of the case or the claim of the petitioner that the allegations made in the charge-sheet are incorrect, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to finalize the inquiry proceedings initiated against the petitioner, vide show-cause notice dated 22.01.2018 (Annexure P-6) and charge-sheet dated 06.02.2018 (Annexure P-7), within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Liberty is given to the respondents to seek extension of time, if necessitated.
