RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Instant petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. praying for quashing of FIR No.0234 dated 25.05.2021, under Sections 452/365/336/379/323/506/148/149 IPC and Section 27 of Arms Act, registered at Police Station Kotwali Patiala, and all the consequential proceedings arising therefrom.

After arguing for some time, counsel for the petitioner fairly submits that he restricts his prayer only to the extent that investigation in this case be completed in a time bound manner. He submits that FIR is of 2021 and investigation is pending till date. He submits that false and frivolous FIR was registered against the petitioner on 25.05.2021 and though the investigation has been handed over to SIT, but till date no progress is made in the investigation. He further submits that SIT be directed to complete the investigation expeditiously in a time bound manner. MEENU 2023.04.11 14:24 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

CRM-M-45780-2021 -2On the other hand, learned State counsel has submitted that SIT has been formed and investigation will be completed at the earliest. After hearing counsel for the parties and perusing the record, the Court finds that prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner appears to be genuine one.

In view of the above-mentioned facts and circumstances, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Investigating Agency/SIT to complete the investigation expeditiously preferably within two months from today.
