In pursuance of Advertisement dated 12.10.2011(P-1) petitioner,being eligible, applied for the post of Warder in Prison Department,Punjab. His physical examination was held alongwith other candidates but was not called for interview. Later on vide Public Notice dated 5.6.2014(P-3) the recruitment process was cancelled for administrative reasons. It is further averred that similarly aggrieved candidates had filed various writ petitions challenging action of the respondents in canceling the selection process and those writ petitions were allowed by this Court vide common order dated 17.12.2016(P-7) passed in CWP 15409/2014 whereby impugned notice canceling selection process was quashed and respondents were directed to consider the claim of the petitioners by adopting the criteria as per Rajinder Parshad Joshi 2017.05.12 14:11 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP 4459/2017 advertisement and prepare a fresh merit list. The candidates found eligible, as per advertised criteria were directed to be considered for appointment against vacant posts. The needful was to be done within a period of four months.

By way of present petition, petitioner is seeking quashing of notice (P-3) and to direct the respondents to conclude the selection process and to consider his name for interview. At the time of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the petition as pursuant to the selection process undertaken in compliance of the order dated 17.12.2016(P-7), the petitioner has been called for verification of documents and permitted to join further selection process. Dismissed as withdrawn.
