Prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to hold election of the Managing Committee of Palahi Multipurpose Co-operative Agricultural Service Society Ltd from the stage, they were left on 02.07.2025 on orders of Assistant Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Phagwara. 2.

Learned counsel submits that the elections of the said society have not been conducted for the last 5 years and now the same have been postponed indefinitely only on account of there being likelihood that some dispute may arise and peace and tranquility of area may be disturbed. He submits that the election process be videographed, the expenses for which the petitioners are ready to bear. 3.

The society must function through its elected representatives and it being the duty of the District Administration to uphold the rule of law and sanctity of democratic institutions, the responsibility to ensure that elections are conducted in a congenial atmosphere rests on it, for purpose of which, it is MOHIT 2025.07.10 19:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
