Petitioners claim that they have attained majority and married against the wishes of their family members. Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection. 2.
Petitioners claim to have submitted a representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-5), in this regard to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Gurdaspur. 3.
Heard. Record perused.

Notice of motion to the office of Advocate General, Punjab. 5.
On asking of the Court, Mr. Vipin Pal Yadav, Addl. A.G, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the State. Copy supplied. 6.
The petitioners have placed on record the copy of Aadhar Cards (Annexure P-1 and P-2) as proof of their age. They have also placed on record the copy of Marriage Certificate as Annexure P-3 and photographs of marriage as Annexure P-4.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Gurdaspur that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding marriage of the parties.
