**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) Petitioner has filed the present writ petition claiming that he retired as a Principal on 30.04.2016. Despite the fact that more than 21⁄2 years has elapsed, the respondents have withheld the amount of `5,00,000/- from the amount of gratuity without any valid justification. Counsel for the petitioner states that even the retiral benefits were released after delay for which the petitioner was entitled for interest. Counsel for the petitioner further states that for the relief claimed in the present writ petition, the petitioner has served a legal notice on 18.06.2018 (Annexure P-6), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in NARESH KUMAR 2018.12.03 15:38 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case and the claim being made by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 18.06.2018 (Annexure P-6) by passing a speaking order within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case after the decision, it is found that the petitioner is entitled for any monetary benefit, the same shall also be released to him within a period of next three months.

Present writ petition stands disposed of.
