SUVIR SEHGAL, J. (Oral) The Court has been convened through video conferencing due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The instant petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a direction to official respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life, liberty and property of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondents No.5 and 6, who with the help of local police are harassing him.

Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is working with the Central Reserve Police Force and is posted at Jharkhand. The agricultural land belonging to the petitioner is adjoining to a Gurudawara Sahib and respondents No.5 and 6 are its Managers. The sewage from the Gurudwara Sahib flows into the agricultural land of the SAVITA KADIAN 2020.12.17 17:39 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court Chandigarh

CRWP No.10545 of 2020 {2} petitioner and destroys the crops every year. He has referred to the photographs (Annexure P-1) of his land. Counsel submits that the representations have been addressed to the local authorities but they have not given any response. The petitioner submitted a representation (Annexure P-2) to the Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar which is pending.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied in case a direction is issued to the concerned official respondent to look into the representation.

Without adverting to the merits of the petitioner's allegations at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to examine the representation (Annexure P-2) and thereafter, to take appropriate steps as warranted, in accordance with law. A copy of this order alongwith copy of representation, Annexure P-2 be sent to respondent No.2 to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
