The present order would dispose of two petitions i.e., CRM-M34203-2026 filed by Jora Singh and CRM-M-34170-2026 filed by Manpreet Singh.

Both the petitions have been filed under Section 483 of BNSS for grant of regular bail to the petitioners in case FIR No.217 dated 28.11.2025, under Sections 109, 124(1), 132, 121(1), 115(2), 118(1), 326(g), 125(a), 126(2), 221, 226, 190, 191(3), 195(1), 285, 287, 288, 324(3), 351(3), 62, 57 BNS (corresponding Sections 307, 326(a), 353, 332, 323, 324, 436, 337, 341, 186, 149, 148, 152, 283, 285, 286, 506, 511, 117 of IPC and Sections 4 & 5 of the Punjab Prevention of Damage to Public and Private Property Act, registered at P.S. City Sangrur, District Sangrur. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners have been in custody since 28.11.2025 and the investigation is completed and the challan has already been presented. It is further submitted that the petitioners are not involved in any other case. It is stated that co-accused of the petitioners, namely, Gurjit Singh @ Happy, who was similarly placed as the petitioners, has applied for regular bail and the Coordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 15.06.2026 passed in CRM33273-2026 has granted the concession of regular bail. It is further submitted that a perusal of the FIR would show that the allegation with respect to pouring petrol on Inspector Jasvir Singh is attributed to only coaccused Sukhjinder Singh @ Seepa and there is no specific allegation against the petitioners.

Learned State counsel, on the other hand, has submitted that the petitioners are specifically named in the FIR and as per the allegations, they were also present at the place of occurrence. It is further submitted that the

CRM-M-34203-2026 3 police officer Jasvir Singh had suffered five injuries. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, in rebuttal, has submitted that the injuries suffered by the Inspector Jasvir Singh are simple in nature. 6.

This Court has heard the learned counsel for the parties and has perused the paper book.

Keeping in view the above-said facts and circumstances, more so, the fact that the petitioners have been in custody since 28.11.2025 and the investigation is complete and the challan has already been presented and the fact that the petitioners are not involved in other case and also the fact that co-accused of the petitioners, namely, Gurjit Singh @ Happy, who is similarly placed as the petitioners, has already been granted the concession of regular bail by a Co-ordinate Bench of this Court vide order dated 15.06.2026 passed in CRM-M-33273-2026 and the fact that injuries suffered by the Inspector Jasvir Singh are simple in nature, both the petitions are allowed and the petitioners are ordered to be released on bail on their furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the concerned trial Court/ Duty Magistrate, subject to them not being required in any other case.

However, it is made clear that in case, any act is done by the petitioners to threaten or influence the complainant or any of the witnesses, then it would be open to the State to move an application for cancellation of bail granted to the petitioners.

Nothing stated above shall be construed as a final expression of opinion on the merits of the case and the trial would proceed independently of the observations made in the present case which are only for the purpose of adjudicating the present bail petition.
