Present petition under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 has been filed for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.672 dated 30.11.2022, under Sections 147/149/307/323/506 of IPC, 1860 (corresponding Sections 191(2), 190/109/115(2)/351(2) of BNS, 2023, registered at Police Station Ambala City, District Ambala.

I have heard learned of the petitioner and learned State Counsel and have gone through the material placed on record. 3.

The petitioner was facing trial for the offence under Sections 147/149/307/323/506 of IPC, 1860 in FIR No.672 dated 30.11.2022. He was released on anticipatory bail initially and thereafter charges were framed on 20.04.2024. Prosecution evidence started but he absented on 25.10.2024 and he was declared PO on 17.04.2025. Presently, petitioner is in custody since 03.03.2026. As such, the trial is likely to take a long time to conclude and no useful purpose will thus be served by detaining the petitioner in custody. Having regard to the aforesaid factual position, but without commenting anything upon the merits of the case, the present petition is allowed and petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds and surety bonds to the satisfaction of learned Trial Court concerned, on usual terms and conditions.
