This petition has been filed for regular bail under Section 483 of BNSS in case FIR No.117 dated 06.05.2025 under Section 18 of NDPS Act registered at Police Station Dera Bassi, SAS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the case of the prosecution is that the petitioner has been allegedly found in possession of 2.5 kgs of opium. The petitioner is in custody since 06.05.2025. He submits that the FSL report is not filed.

Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG, Punjab, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Learned State counsel has filed the custody certificate in the Court today, which is taken on record. As per custody certificate dated 01.08.2025 the petitioner is in custody for 02 months and 20 days and he is not involved in any other case. I have heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

In view of the statement of the learned State counsel, this petition is allowed. In the meanwhile, the petitioner is granted concession of interim bail on his furnishing requisite bail bonds, surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate/Chief Judicial Magistrate concerned till the filing of FSL report. The petitioner is directed to surrender before the trial Court concerned and seek regular bail, when the FSL report is received and supplementary challan is prepared. (H.S.GREWAL) 02.08.2025.
