PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) The issue involved in the present writ petitions relates to the recruitment of 7416 constables (male and female) in District Police Cadre and Armed Police Cadre of Punjab Police Services initiated vide Advertisement dated 31st of May, 2016.

The issue has already been dealt with by this Court in detail in a batch of writ petitions i.e. CWP No.2208 of 2017 titled as Jaimal Singh vs. Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh and another. 4.
This Court has already observed in the aforesaid order that the State has conducted whole exercise in the light of judgment passed by Writ Court in CWP No.22985 of 2016 which stands approved in LPA No.916 of 2021 and further stands affirmed by the Apex Court in SLP No.27011 of 2022.

In view of above, there is no legal issue left in these writ petitions to be adjudicated upon qua the aforesaid recruitment. 6.
Needless to say, the State shall be bound by the final merit list dated 18th of May, 2022.

This order be read in continuation of order dated 26th of May, 2023 passed in CWP No.2208 of 2017 titled as 'Jaimal Singh vs. Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh & another' and connected writ petitions.
