**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) Petitioner has preferred this writ petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claim of the disabled and infirm petitioner for certain incentives in the nature of supply of seeds at subsidized rates etc.

Vide order dated 02.09.2019, learned State counsel was obligated to complete instructions as to whether the department of agriculture- State of Punjab has formulated any scheme/policy for such a relief in favour of handicapped persons.

CWP No. 23813 of 2019 -2In compliance of the aforesaid, State has passed a speaking order to the effect that the petitioner is physically handicapped and is also a small land marginal farmer. Though the State of Punjab has not formulated any such policy for making the aforesaid relief applicable to the disabled farmers, but the petitioner is also a small and marginal farmer, therefore, as per the guidelines of different ongoing schemes of the department, petitioner is also entitled for the relief available to the category of small and marginal farmers.

In view of reply, the petitioner is also entitled for the benefit of scheme according to the guidelines for which the petitioner can apply to the competent authority. In view of stand taken by respondent- State, this writ petition is disposed of. Petitioner, if so, advised may apply to the competent authority for seeking the relief in question in accordance with the guidelines.
