The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing official respondents to protect the life and liberty of petitioners at the hands of private respondents as well as respondent No. 6. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners fairly contends that petitioners are the owner in possession of land measuring 10 kanals and a Civil Suit was filed by respondent No. 8 seeking permanent injunction against the petitioners

qua the land in question but the same was dismissed vide order and judgement dated 08.04.2026 as respondent No. 8 failed to establish the possession over the land in question. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that respondent No. 8 has not preferred any appeal against the aforesaid judgment. Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that the petitioners are being harassed by the private respondents and police authorities pressurized the petitioners to get the possession of said land in favour of private respondents in spite of the fact that no relief was granted to them by the competent court of civil jurisdiction. He further submits that detailed representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-2) was submitted by the petitioner before respondent No. 4 but till date no action has been taken. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that they would be satisfied if representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioner is decided by respondent No. 4 by passing a speaking order in a time bound manner.

Mr. Vikas Sonak, AAG, Punjab puts in appearance and accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Learned counsel for the State submits that he has no objection, in case a direction is issued to the respondent No.4 for time-bound consideration and decision of the representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioners by passing a speaking order.

Therefore, in view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, respondent No.4 is directed to consider the representation dated 12.06.2026 (Annexure P-2) of the petitioners and pass a speaking order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, within a period of 03

months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order. Further, the decision taken thereof shall be conveyed to the petitioners. Needless to say, if the petitioners are found entitled to the relief sought, the same shall be granted forthwith by respondent No. 4.
