(ORAL) The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking extension of the parole granted to the petitioner vide order dated 21.04.2026 for a further period of one month. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that earlier the petitioner was granted parole vide the aforesaid order passed in CWP-25372026 and was required to surrender on or before 21.06.2026. It is contended that the Cholecystectomy surgery of the petitioner's wife is now scheduled for 27.06.2026 and in view of the said development, the presence of the petitioner would be required to attend to his wife. He, thus prays that the parole already granted to the petitioner be extended.

Mr. Mohit Kapoor, Senior Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and has filed the custody certificate of the petitioner in Court today. He submits that considering the facts and circumstances, he has no objection in case parole granted to the petitioner is extended.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and considering the fact that the Cholecystectomy surgery of the petitioner's wife is scheduled for 27.06.2026, which such fact is not disputed by learned State counsel, the period of parole granted to the petitioner is extended for a further period of 10 days. It is made clear that on the date of expiry of 10 days from today, the petitioner shall surrender before the concerned jail authorities. 6.
