The petitioner is widow of Baljeet Singh son of Sat Narayan who was working with respondent as Assistant Lineman. He passed away on 31.12.2013 in harness. On account of family dispute between the petitioner and her mother-in-law, matter reached to Civil Court and thereafter Appellate Court. On account of pendency of suit and thereafter appeal before Appellate Court, the respondent did not release retiral benefits of petitioner's husband. She preferred CWP-1483-2025 before PRINCE CHAWLA 2025.07.08 11:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
-2- this Court which was disposed of vide order dated 20.01.2025. The respondent, pursuant to aforesaid order, has released service benefits of petitioner's husband to the tune of Rs.42,41,887/-. The petitioner is claiming interest on delayed payment of service benefits. 3.

, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that delay in payment occurred on account of pendency of civil suit between petitioner and her mother-in-law and thereafter appeal filed by petitioner's mother-in-law where there was a stay by Appellate Court. 4.
On being confronted with aforesaid fact,
submits that the petitioner may be granted interest from the date of dismissal of appeal by Appellate Court. 5.
In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent to pay interest to petitioner @7.5% from 21.05.2024 to date of payment of aforesaid amount. 6.
Let the needful be done within one month from today. The petitioner shall furnish indemnity bond qua interest amount like principal amount.
