State of Punjab and Others

...Respondents

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AMAN CHAUDHARY ***** Present :

Mr. J.S. Mohri, Advocate for the petitioner

    ***** AMAN CHAUDHARY, J. (ORAL) 1.

Learned counsel submits that the petitioner having not been given appointment, while Sucha Singh son of Meher Singh, who was not even eligible and possessing two licenses, was granted appointment, who also had the same marks as that of the petitioner i.e. 4.33, led to filing of CWP-7932-2015, which was allowed in his favour, directing the respondents to issue appointment letter for the post of driver. Consequently, he was appointed vide letter dated 21.05.2019, however, has not been granted it from the same date that of Sucha Singh i.e. 03.05.2013, regarding which, a legal notice dated dated 13.03.2023, Annexure P8, has been served upon respondents, however, the same has yet not evoked any response. He thus, on instructions prays that a direction may be given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner. In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the legal notice dated 13.03.2023, within a period of 6 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner.
