The petitioners, who are running Fair Price Shops in District Sirsa, have approached this Court as 2 other Fair Price Shops are proposed to be opened within the areas, which the petitioners' Fair Price Shops were serving. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in case 2 more Fair Price Shops are opened, the number of ration card holders attached to the Fair Price Shops of the petitioners would get reduced to less than 300 and which will not make it viable for them to run the Fair Price Shops and they will suffer huge losses.

Learned State counsel has submitted that a license is granted for running a Fair Price Shop, in case atleast 300 ration card holders are attached to such Fair Price Shop and as the number of ration card holders attached to Fair Price Shop increases over a period of time beyond 600, a fresh Fair Price Shop can be sanctioned for the said area to ensure efficient delivery of the essential commodities, which are distributed through such Fair Price Shop. It has been submitted that the petitioners may submit a detailed representation to respondent No.3 - District Food and Supply Officer, Sirsa, District Sirsa in case they have any grievance or any apprehension and that the same shall be decided in accordance with law and it shall be ensured that the petitioners' interest are also watched within the parameters of laws and rules applicable. 6.

The instant petition, as such, is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to move a detailed representation to respondent No.3 - District Food and Supply Officer, Sirsa, District Sirsa.
