HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J The petitioner, who is an Advocate practising in Faridabad, has filed present petition seeking direction to official respondents to provide him suitable protection in view of the threats received by him because he has been representing certain accused.

Upon notice, an affidavit dated 08.01.2021 of the Commissioner of Police, Faridabad has been filed wherein it is stated that no direct threat has been received by the petitioner. The report revealed that threats/comments referred to by the petitioner has been posted from the persons residing outside the jurisdiction of Faridabad Police Commissionerate, who have no direct links with the petitioner. It is stated that the SHO of Police Station Sector 7, Faridabad has been directed to deploy beat constable for constant surveillance of the neighborhood of the petitioner.

CRWP No.10400 of 2020 #2# Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the trial in one case FIR No.771 is yet pending and the petitioner is receiving threats in regard to said case.

Taking into account the fact that the affidavit was filed almost a year ago, this petition is disposed of with the liberty reserved to the petitioner to submit another representation giving specifics of the threats received by him with regard to his representing certain accused in case FIR No.771/2018. If such a representation is received, it is expected that respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police shall look into the same and take necessary action in accordance with law.

Disposed of as such.
