The present petition has been filed for quashing the impugned action of the respondents in not considering the petitioner for promotion to the post of Motor Vehicle Officer (Enforcement).

Learned counsel submits that the petitioner had obtained the qualification of graduation on 21.07.2023, however, has not been considered for promotion, while there are 11 posts, that are lying vacant. In this regard, application/representations dated 11.08.2023 and 05.04.2024, Annexure P-4 and P-12 respectively, had been submitted by him, which has yet not evoked any response. He thus, at this stage, on instructions from the petitioner that a direction is given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner by granting him an opportunity of hearing.

In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the application/representations dated 11.08.2023 and 05.04.2024 expeditiously in accordance with law. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to him and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to his interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioner shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon          !"!#
