**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL , J. (ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus respondents No. 2 to 4 to safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of respondents No. 5 to 7.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondents No. 5 to 7 have defrauded the petitioner to the tune of Rs. 7 crores and 20 lacs and in this regard, he has got registered FIR No. 172 dated 17.10.2015 under Section 420, 120-B IPC at Police Station Dharamkot, District Moga. He further submits that the civil and criminal cases were also filed against respondents No. 5 to 7 which are pending before the concerned Court. Learned counsel further submits that at this stage, the private respondents, who are on bail, have been regularly extending threats to the petitioner to withdraw the civil and criminal cases, filed against them. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that on GURPREET SINGH 2020.12.15 18:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chadigarh 04.11.2020, respondents No. 5 to 7 extended threats to the petitioner and

CRWP No. 10424 of 2020 -2also pasted a threatening letter on the gate of his house and the said act of the private respondents has been captured in the CCTV camera. He further submits that in this regard, the petitioner has moved a complaint (Annexure P-3) to Senior Superintendent of Police, District Jalandhar (Rural)- respondent No. 2 but no action has been taken on the same so far. Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 4 only at this stage. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sandeep Singh Deol, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State-respondents No. 1 to 4. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned State counsel.

Keeping in view the above, respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Jalandhar (Rural) is directed to decide the complaint (Annexure P-3) moved by the petitioner within 20 days from the receipt of certified copy of this order, as per law. The petition stands disposed of.
