The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to re-issue his passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 16.06.1989 which was valid upto 15.06.1999. The petitioner while was in Italy, lost his passport. The petitioner was deported to India on 15.10.1996 against travel on Emergency Certificate. The petitioner vide application dated 06.07.2022 applied for re-issuance of passport. The petitioner alongwith application filed documents with respect to loss of earlier passport. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that police verification has already been conducted and no FIR is found to be pending PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.09.04 16:35 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP No.17754 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:115562 against the petitioner, thus, there is no reason to delay issuance of passport. The wife and two sons of the petitioner have already been issued passport with the same address.

Learned counsel for Union of India assures the Court that appropriate order would be passed within four weeks from today. 5.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for Union of India, the present petition stands disposed of.
