**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) In the present case, the petitioner has approached this Court stating that the petitioner retired from service subject to the pending charge-sheets and his retiral benefits have been withheld and are not being released.

Counsel for the petitioner states that there were five chargesheets pending on the day when the petitioner retired. Out of the five charge-sheets, four charge-sheets have been decided and the respondents have imposed punishment by passing orders (Annexures P-1, P-3, P-5 and P-7).

CWP-30899-2018 -2Counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner has filed appeals against the above-said orders, which are pending with the respondents. Further, keeping in view the pendency of the said appeals, the retiral benefits are not being released.

Counsel for the petitioner further states that at this stage, the petitioner will be satisfied, in case, the respondents are directed to decide the appeals, which the petitioner have preferred against the orders imposing the punishment in a time bound manner. In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondents to decide the appeals against the orders imposing punishment upon the petitioner, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
