The present petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus for directing respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 and 8 for not harassing the petitioner on any false criminal complaint.

Today, at the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition qua respondents No.7 and 8.

Advance copy of the petition has been served upon the State. 5.

On asking, Ms. Jagriti Kalia, AAG, Punjab has put in appearance on behalf of the respondents No. 1 to 3-State.

Mr. Santosh Kumar, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of respondents No.4 to 6 and filed his Vakalatnama, which is taken on record. 7.
