(Oral) By way of present revision petition challenge has been made to an order dated 28.03.2024 passed by the learned Rent Controller Barnala, whereby the defence of the petitioner has been struck off on account of non-payment of arrears of rent as provisionally assessed vide order dated 16.01.2024, in terms of Section 25(2) of the Punjab Rent Act, 1995, for short '1995 Act'.

In the present case vide order dated 16.01.2024, the Rent Controller, Barnala, upon provisional assessment, directed the petitionertenant to pay Rs.4,08,125/- as interim rent along with interest @ 15% per annum and in case of default his defence was liable to be struck off under Section 25(5) of the 1995 Act.

Admittedly, the petitioner never paid the arrears towards interim rent in accordance with order dated 16.01.2024, the same being even upheld by this Court vide order of even date passed in CR-4692SANGEETA 2024.11.08 09:40 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CR-4693-2024 (O&M) 2024, thus, the order dated 28.03.2024 being consequential to the order dated 16.01.2024, no interference is called for. Dismissed.
