The grievance of the petitioners is that plots are being carved out on the land reserved for Gau Charand. No action has been taken despite representation made by the petitioners to the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Civil Secretariat, Haryana, Chandigarh. After hearing learned counsel for the petitioners, however without opining on the merits of the controversy, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to take appropriate action on the representation made by the petitioners within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of the order. The petition stands disposed of.
