The present revision petition has been filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to the Trial Court concerned to conclude the trial in Civil Suit being CS-1312-2020 expeditiously.

As per the Dashboard of District Courts, Chandigarh available on the website of National Judicial Data Grid, a total of 10508 Civil Suits are pending before the Court concerned. Out of said cases, 69 cases are 1020 years old, 1191 are 5-10 years old and 2130 are 3-5 years old. 3.

The Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of High Court Bar Association, Allahabad Vs. State of U.P. & Ors. [2024 (2) RCR (Civil) 199] has held in para No.37(c) as under :

"37(c) Constitutional Courts, in the ordinary course, should refrain from fixing a time-bound schedule for the disposal of cases pending before any other Courts. CR-4825-2024 (O&M) -2bound disposal of cases only in exceptional circumstances. The issue of prioritizing the disposal of cases should be best left to the decision of the concerned Courts where the cases are pending"

No exceptional circumstances are made out in the present case for issuance of directions to the Court concerned to decide the case expeditiously.
