IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRWP-7518-2026 Date of Decision: 03.07.2026 Rahul and another
...Petitioners
V/s State of Punjab and others
...Respondents
CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIKRAM AGGARWAL
Present:
Mr. Gobind Singh Randhawa, Advocate, for the petitioners. Mr. Adesh Pal Singh, AAG, Punjab.
*** VIKRAM AGGARWAL, J (ORAL) Prayer in the present petition preferred under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7.
2.
The petitioners claim to be in live-in relationship. However, petitioner No.2 is a minor girl.
3.
Considering the aforesaid fact, a direction was issued on 01.07.2026 that petitioner No.2 would remain present in Court. 4.
However, today, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he tried to contact petitioner No.1 but his phone was not reachable. This Court is, therefore, convinced that the petitioners are hesitating to put in appearance before this Court. Petitioner No.2 being a minor girl, this Court does not deem it appropriate to issue any direction to the State of Punjab as regards producing her in Court, as the same may expose her to uncalled for danger.
