The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to consider and decide the representation dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure P-3) submitted by the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners had moved a representation dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.4-Deputy Director, Panchayats and Rural Development Department, Punjab, but the same has not been considered and decided till date. He further submitted that at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied in case the aforesaid representation dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure P-3) is considered and decided by respondent No.4 by passing a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a time bound manner. On the asking of the Court, Ms. Shruti, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents-State of Punjab and submitted that the aforesaid representation shall be considered and decided by passing a speaking order in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from today.

In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances and without expressing anything on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4-Deputy Director, Panchayats and Rural Development Department, Punjab, to consider and decide the representation dated 18.03.2026 (Annexure P-3) by passing a speaking order in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from today.
