***** RAJAN GUPTA , J. (Oral) CM-14731-CII-2014 This is an application for condonation of delay of 713 days in filing the appeal. The main ground agitated in the application is that appellants were not aware that the appeal could be preferred against the impugned order. Only after they came to know this fact, they contacted their counsel and instructed him. They were able to meet their counsel on May 06, 2013, whereafter, appeal was prepared.

Prayer for condonation of delay is opposed by the counsel appearing for respondent No.2-Insurance company. According to him, application does not contain any substantial ground for condoning the delay. Order was passed way-back in March, 2012, whereafter, compensation was disbursed to the claimants.

I find substance in the plea of the Insurance company that no substantial ground has been given for condoning such a huge delay in filing SUKHPREET KAUR 2018.10.09 03:50 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

the appeal. Besides, compensation in terms of order dated March 26, 2012, is stated to have been disbursed to the claimants. There is no ground to condone the delay. Dismissed.

FAO-5191-2014 Since the application for condonation of delay has been dismissed on merits, no order needs to be passed in the main appeal. Same is also hereby dismissed.
