The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to protect the life and personal liberty of the petitioner at the hands of private respondent Nos.4 to 7.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner is married to respondent No.4 and is continuously receiving threats from respondent Nos.4 to 7. In this regard a representation has also been given on 28.07.2023 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 - Superintendent of Police, Nuh Mewat. However, no action has been taken till date.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from PSI Surender, has stated that earlier action could not be taken due to law and order situation prevailing in the area. Thereafter, the police did try to contact the complainant on 16.08.2023, however, she did not respond to the phone call. Learned State counsel further assures the Court that requisite action would be taken and the representation of the petitioner shall be dealt with expeditiously in accordance with law.

In view of the statement made by the learned State counsel, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 - Superintendent of Police, Nuh Mewat - to decide the representation dated 28.07.2023 (Annexure P-3) within a period of 15 days from today. Meanwhile, the official respondents shall ensure the safety and security of the petitioner. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
