The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to respondents No.1 and 2 to appoint her as a Constable on the basis of tentative merit list (Annexure P-2) prepared in accordance with achievements of the candidates in sports. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in the tentative merit list (Annexure P-2), the name of petitioner figures at serial No.72, whereas in the provisional selection list (Annexure P-3) of selected candidates, her name is missing though the name of one Anju Sharma, who was at serial No.74 in the tentative merit list (Annexure P-2) has been included in the provisional selection list (Annexure P-3).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he restricts his prayer at this stage to issuance of a direction to respondent No.2 - The Special Director PANKAJ KAKKAR 2023.08.18 17:07 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

Having regard to the limited prayer made by learned counsel representing the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - The Special Director General of Police, Armed Battalions, Punjab, Jalandhar, to consider and dispose of legal notice dated 20.3.2023 (Annexure P-4) in accordance with law and to take a decision on the same expeditiously preferably within a period of 2 months from today. 5.
