The present criminal writ petition has been filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to ensure protection of the life and liberty of the petitioners from respondent Nos. 4 to 14, who are allegedly interfering with and threatening the petitioners on account of their consensual live-in relationship. It is averred that both the petitioners are majors and are competent to make decisions concerning their personal lives. 2.

After addressing arguments for some time, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw the present petition with liberty to approach the District Legal Services Authority for appropriate relief in accordance with law.

Prayer is allowed.

The present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as prayed for.
