RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Section 528 Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for issuance of direction to respondents not to conduct multiple inquiries in gross violation of the Notification No.137223/PA/DGP/Chandigarh, dated 01.04.2008, Annexure P-4 as well as the order dated 12.01.2009 passed by this Court in CRM-M-18244-2008, Annexure P-5, in case FIR No.72, dated 11.05.2023, Annexures P-1, registered at Police Station Division No.2, Pathinakot, District Pathankot, for offences punishable under Sections 341, 342, 323, 34 IPC. It is further prayed that subsequent inquiry pending before Assistant Superintendent of Police, Dinagar be stayed during pendency of the present petition. It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner was harassed by the accused and thus she lodged FIR No.66, dated 06.05.2023, under Sections 354-A, 451, 427, 506 and 34 IPC at Police MEENU 2024.08.12 18:37 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-39092-2024 -2Station Pathankot, Division No.2, District Pathankot (Annexure P-2) in which on the completion of the investigation, challan was presented. He further submits that in order to pressurize the petitioner to compromise in FIR No.66, dated 06.05.2023, the accused persons started pressurizing her and thus the petitioner lodged FIR No.72, dated 11.05.2023, under Sections 341, 342, 323, 34 IPC, at Police Station Division No.2, Pathankot, District Pathankot, Annexure P-1. He further submits that till date no action has been taken by the respondents/Investigating Agency simply on the ground of jurisdiction of different districts.

On asking of the Court, Mr.Tarun Aggarwal, Sr.DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State. After hearing learned counsel for the parties and going through the facts of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to complete the investigation in FIR No.72, dated 11.05.2023, Annexure P-1, expeditiously preferably within one month from today in accordance with law.
