Prayer made in the present petition is for issuance of direction to the respondent Nos.2 and 3 to conduct fair investigation and as also protection of life and liberty of the petitioners from private respondents. 2.

Learned State counsel refers to paragraph Nos.5 and 9 of status report, wherein it has been stated that SIT was constituted by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib, vide order dated 30.07.2024, consisting of DSP and SHO, and that investigation has been carried out in a fair, impartial and transparent manner. The concerns raised by petitioners regarding any threat to their life and liberty from private respondents remain unsubstantiated, and in that case any new evidence or fact comes to light, regarding the threat or harm to the petitioners, the respective action will be taken in accordance with law.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners does not press the present petition any further.
