(ORAL) This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a direction to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner along with his family members and not to harass the petitioner on account of dispute between his son and daughter-in-law and to close the proceedings of any complaint touching matrimonial dispute between son and daughter-in-law of the petitioner in Canada, till the matter is decided by Matrimonial Court at Canada.

Status report by way of affidavit dated 16.09.2024 of Satinder Kumar, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, NRI Wing, Amritsar, has been filed on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 3 as well as reply by way of affidavit dated 23.09.2024 of respondent No.5-Ram Singh has also been filed. Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Advocate, has put in appearance on behalf of respondent No.5 and filed his Power of Attorney. Learned counsel submits that being worried about the safety and security of Gurjit Kaur, daughter of respondent No.5, he initiated the instant complaint before the authorities i.e. respondent No.2 to 4 against the petitioner and his family members. He further informs the Court that since the litigation is pending at Canada between daughter and son-in-law of respondent No.5, he does not want to pursue the present complaint here, which is subject matter of the present petition.

In view of the statement made by learned counsel for respondent No.5, Mr. Sanjiv Gupta, Advocate, is satisfied stating that his grievance raised in the petition stands addressed and no further intervention of the Court is required.

In view of the discussion and observations made herein-above, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks withdrawal of the instant petition, at this stage Prayer is accepted.
