On 01.07.2026, while issuing notice, this Court passed the following order:- "The petitioner who appears in person, inter alia contends that the results of the newly elected body for the Municipal Council, Naya Gaon, District SAS Nagar (Mohali) have been declared on 29.05.2026, but in violation of Rule 3 of the Punjab Municipal (President and Vice-President) Election Rules, 1994, even after the passage of a month, no meeting has been convened by the Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar (Mohali) for administering oath of allegiance to all the elected members and/or election of the President and Vice President(s). Notice of motion.

Mr. Jastej Singh, Addl. A.G., Punjab, accepts the notice on behalf of the respondents and prays for time to seek instructions. Adjourned to 02.07.2026.

To be taken up in the urgent list."

CWP-19521-2026 -2elected members of the Municipal Council, Naya Gaon, District SAS Nagar (Mohali) shall be convened for administering oath of allegiance to the newly elected members and for conducting the elections to the posts of President and Vice President(s). He further states that to ensure, fairness and transparency, videography of the entire process shall be done and the recording thereof shall be preserved for a period of two months under the care and custody of Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar, Mohali. 3.
