Present:

Mr. Rajesh Kumar Kashyap, Advocate for the petitioners. **** Jasjit Singh Bedi, J. (Oral) Renu and Parveen Kumar, the petitioners before this Court, claim themselves to be major. They have pleaded that they have married against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 8 and seek protection to their life and liberty. They apprehend danger from the aforesaid respondents. They have placed on record marriage certificate and photographs, Annexures P-3 and P-4, respectively evidencing their marriage. The petitioners have submitted a representation dated 02.11.2021, Annexure P-5 to the Superintendent of Police, Ambala.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case and validity of the marriage, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to decide the representation of the petitioners dated 02.11.2021, Annexure P-5 and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law if any committed by them.
