(Oral) Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to grant interest @ 18% p.a. on the delayed payment of Rs.2,17,848/- of gratuity sanctioned vide letter dated 22.12.2023 (Annexure P-8) for the period from 03.12.2011 to 22.12.2023 i.e. from the due date till its actual realization. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the present petition has been rendered infructuous as the grievance raised by the petitioner in the present petition has been substantially redressed and due payment has already been paid to the petitioners.
