Through this writ petition, the petitioner assails the correctness of the orders dated 23.09.2021, 19.04.2021 and 21.05.2021. 2.

In essence, the petitioner, who is an elected Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat, village Jhaloor, Tehsil and District Barnala, has been placed under suspension from the elected office and as an interim measure, the Administrator has been appointed to manage the affairs of the gram panchayat.

Mr. Harsimar Singh Sitta, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, has entered appearance on behalf of respondent No.1 to 6 pursuant to the advance copy of the writ petition and informs the Court that the regular inquiry into the allegations is pending before the Regional Deputy Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab at Patiala. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, it is considered appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the Regional Deputy Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab at Patiala, to conclude the regular inquiry within a period of one month from today.
