This criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to the official respondents to grant protection of life and liberty to the petitioners and their family members at the hands of private respondent no.4. Notice of motion.

Mr. Amit Shukla, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of official respondents no.1 to 3-State.

At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, SBS Nagar, Nawanshahar, Punjab to consider and decide the representation dated 08.09.2022 (Annexure P-2) alleged to have been submitted by the petitioners seeking protection for their life and liberty along with their family members. Accordingly, without commenting upon the merits of the claim of the petitioners and even the assertions set out in the petition, the present petition is disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2 that if any such representation, as indicated above, is indeed pending consideration, it shall be dealt with expeditiously in accordance with law by passing a speaking order, preferably within two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and conveying the same to the petitioners.
