**** SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL J.(ORAL) Apprehending danger to their life and liberty, both petitioners who are in live-in relationship have filed the present petition with a prayer to direct official respondents to protect their life and liberty from respondents No. 4 to 7. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both petitioners are major, petitioner No.1 was born on 16.06.1993 and petitioner No.2 on 01.01.1996. Learned counsel further submits that petitioner No.1 had solemnized marriage with respondent No.4 and out of the wedlock two daughters were born. Petitioner No.2 was unmarried. On account of temperamental differences, petitioner No.1 and respondent No.4 could not live together and decided to part ways. It is further submitted that both petitioners had developed an emotional bond and started living together. CRWP-7676-2026 (O&M) were extending threats to eliminate the petitioners. Petitioners moved representation to respondent No.2 for protection of their life and liberty but to no avail.

Life and liberty of petitioners has to be protected irrespective of the fact that their relationship does not have approval of society.

Without commenting on the validity of relationship of the petitioners, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the official respondents to decide representation dated 27.06.2026 (Annexure P-5) within a period of one month. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, necessary steps as per law be taken at the earliest, so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners. 8.
However, this order shall neither validate the live-instatus between the petitioners nor shall have any bearing on any civil or criminal action, initiated or to be initiated against them. 9.
Disposed of accordingly.
