The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 seeking direction to official respondents to conduct investigation in a fair and impartial manner in FIR No.38 under Sections 25(6), 54, 59 of Arms Act (Section 21C/61/85 of NDPS Act, 1985 added later on, vide DDR No.042 dated 21.03.2025, registered at Police Station Cantonment District Amritsar and further seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent Nos.5 and 6.

After arguing for sometime, learned counsel for the petitioner contends that he would be satisfied in case directions are issued to the official respondents to decide his representations (Annexures P-8 and P-9) in a time bound manner.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case and the prayer made by the counsel for the petitioner and further without commenting upon the merits of the case, the Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate Amritsar, District Amritsar, is directed to decide the said representations within a period of 04 weeks, by passing a speaking order.
