The instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus to direct the respondents to allot the plot of 100 square yards to the eligible persons, after deleting the names of ineligible persons, who have been included in the list of allotment.
1.1 A further prayer has been made to direct respondent No.2 (Deputy Commissioner, Sonepat, District Sonepat) to consider representation dated 26.07.2024 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from Sh. Jatinder Sharma, DDPO, Sonepat, informs the Court that the Deputy Commissioner, Sonepat, vide letter dated 08.07.2024, has already constituted a Committee under the Sub Divisional Officer, Sonepat with APURVA 2024.08.23 18:06 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh
other members, being the Tehsildar, Sonepat and Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Murthal, to look into the entire records of Gram Panchayat, Khewra, in relation to the Mahatama Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojna, as regards the eligible/illegible persons and thereafter to proceed with the draw of lots for the eligible candidates. Photocopy of the said letter dated 08.07.2024 is handed over by learned counsel for the State in Court today, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner, in view of the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for the State, submits that the petitioners would be satisfied at this stage, if appropriate directions are issued to respondent No.2 (Deputy Commissioner, Sonepat, District Sonepat) to decide representation dated 26.07.2024 (Annexure P-4). 4.
Learned counsel for the State does not dispute to the aforesaid course of action.

Keeping in view the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Deputy Commissioner, Sonepat, District Sonepat (respondent No.2 herein) to consider and decide the representation dated 26.07.2024 (Annexure P-4) by way of passing a speaking order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties.
