CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE TRIBHUVAN DAHIYA . . .

PRESENT: - Mr. Vijay Pal, Advocate for the petitioner. . . .

Tribhuvan Dahiya, J. (Oral) This petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to count the petitioner's service w.e.f. January 1996 for the purpose of seniority and other pensionary/retiral benefits. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner was appointed on contract basis in January 1996, since there was a ban on regular recruitment to the post of Assistant Professors/Lecturers from 1996 to 2006. Pursuant thereto, she was regularly appointed as Assistant Professor (Sanskrit) in the respondent Department. Her case for counting the contract service is covered under the UGC guidelines dated 30.06.2010 (Annexure P-11). She has already submitted a legal notice dated 11.05.2023, Annexure P-19, but the same has not been decided so far. At this stage, the petitioner will be satisfied in case respondent no.2 is directed to consider and decide the pending legal notice.
